Some may know exactly what we're talking about. It's those moments in your life where you feel like you are being held and preparing for something that will lift you into a season of flight. We sit out on our patio in the mornings and watch the butterflies converge onto our Passion Flower Plant and we watch some of those butterflies lay their eggs. We've copied this description (from allanspetcenter.com) because it is a clear correlation between caterpillars and man:
First, not all caterpillars turn into butterflies. Some turn into moths instead.
Wow! What does that tell you about mankind? You're going to meet some moths!
Hey you may be a moth. mmmm.
No matter what, all caterpillars go through the same four stages: egg, larva, pupa and adult.
All humans go through the same stages of life (infant, childhood/adolescence, adult)
Each stage has different goals and time lengths.
Humans have different goals from each other and different life spans.
Once the caterpillar is done eating and growing, there is a lack of the juvenile hormones, which causes the caterpillar to form a silk cocoon around itself as it begins a radical transformation in a gorgeous butterfly or…. a moth.
We as humans grow through our juvenile hormones (child/adolescence). As we go through this process we chose how we are going to develop ourselves. What we are going to believe in. Who we are choosing to acquaint ourselves with. What does a true friendship look like. Where we would like to live. How we would like to represent ourselves. That is our cocoon moment.
When we have set these thoughts and actions into motion we come forward as that gorgeous butterfly or….. grey moth.
