Treat Others The Way They Want To Be Treated. That's the Platinum Rule.
This rule is being taught and trained to people in leadership positions around the globe. We are citizens of the world and in order to appreciate one another it's best when we understand each other.
If I am a storyteller, to get my message out and you are used to direct answers and fast information to get your message out, we may never have the chance to connect and collaborate because we are only thinking about how WE personally are accustomed to communicating.
Imagine being the "other" person. How are they interacting with you? What if you took on their cadence and rhythm when speaking with them? Do you think they would enjoy the conversation more?
Take time to follow people's body language and inflection in their voice. Serve that back to them in your communication with them. There will come a non-verbal connection due to you taking time to serve the Platinum Rule.
