Get Your Full Rest
Go to SLEEP! When we are young we feel like sleep is a waste of time. "I'm gonna live my life to the fullest" is our mindset. "Sleep is for the old" "I'll sleep when I die". No No No. Sleep is crucial to brain and body health.
Did you know that a minimum of 8 hours of sleep is the base for your brain's health. Yes, if you want to be a strong partner, spouse, team member, co-owner, get your complete rest. Lack of sleep affects your immune system, metabolism, and brain health.
Allow your brain to restore the tissue used to function all day. Permit your brain to gather the memories and learning of the day and store it away. Sleep replaces the balance of your nervous system and soaks up the stress hormone, Cortisol. In order to be your best self for others (as well as yourself) Get Your Rest.
You may say "It's so hard to sleep for 8 hours" We say "SO WHAT" learn to train your body to be its optimal self. It may take time to get there. Try a hot cup of herbal (non-caffeine) tea, take a small dose of Melatonin (it's non addictive) to help you start your sleep patterns. Of course check with your doctor before taking it.
Also, calm music as you get ready for bed, maybe a warm shower with lavender, chamomile or Ylang-ylang oil added to your shower cleanser. Fresh bed linens are a wonderful thing to be wrapped in before falling asleep.
Just remember you are worth it and those partners, spouse, family members, team members, co-owners deserve the best of you. Get Your Full Rest!
